Dr John Relic is a consultant specialist Dermatologist. John graduated from the University of NSW in 1977 and became a Fellow of the Australasian College of Dermatologists in 1986. John has been practising as a Dermatologist in Newcastle for over twenty years. He is a Visiting Medical Officer at the John Hunter Hospital as well as being a Visiting Medical Officer at many private hospitals in the Hunter Region. He completed a skin surgery course at the Scripps Clinic in San Diego in 1990 and takes a particular interest in skin surgery techniques.
John also performs skin rejuvenation treatments using the Sciton Profile Laser and Broadband Light machine.
Pediatrics is John's other area of special interest. John meets regularly with other Pediatric Dermatologists and conducts a Pediatric Dermatology clinic fortnightly at the John Hunter Hospital.
Dr. Sally de Zwaan
MBBS (Hons), PhD, BSc (Psych), FACD
Dr. Sally de Zwaan completed her Dermatology training both in Australia and overseas. Sally brings a wealth of experience to the clinic, with her expertise in many areas including medical, surgical and paediatric dermatology. She completed her medical degree at Sydney University and worked in Sydney hospitals for several years before spending 4 years training in Dermatology. She is a visiting medical officer to John Hunter Hospital where she runs a monthly clinic and is the Supervisor of Training for John Hunter Hospital/Royal Newcastle Centre Dermatology Registrars.
She also has a PhD in genetics of skin cancer and a Bachelor of Science degree majoring in Psychology. Sally has undertaken research and written many articles for various Dermatology journals. She has also worked extensively with the AMA.
Sally is one of the few doctors in the region to be accredited to perform medicare-rebated injections for the treatment of hyperhidrosis (excessive sweating), and she has completed advanced training with Allergan in the use of muscle relaxing injections for fine lines and wrinkles.
Dr. Edwina Lamrock
MBBC (Distinction), FACD
Dr. Edwina Lamrock graduated with Distinction at the University of Newcastle, and was awarded the Faculty of Health Medal. Whilst undergoing her dermatology specialty training she has worked at various hospitals including Royal North Shore, Liverpool, Orange Base and John Hunter.
She has published articles in the Australasian Journal of Dermatology and has presented at the combined Australasian College of Dermatology and Austrian Society for Dermatology and Venereology.
In addition to working in private practice she is currently a Visiting Medical Officer in dermatology at the John Hunter Hospital where she is involved in supervising registrars training in dermatology and medical students. Edwina is trained in medical and surgical dermatology and has particular interest in acne, eczema, psoriasis and skin cancers.
Dr. David Jenkins
David is a member of the Australasian College of Dermatologists and was acknowledged as a prize winner for achievement in the final exams held by the Australasian College of Dermatologists in 2015. He is also a member of the American Academy of Dermatology
David has published articles in multiple peer-reviewed journals including The Australasian Journal of Dermatology and Paediatric Dermatology on topics including connective tissue diseases, paediatrics, eczema, genodermatoses, and contact dermatitis.
He takes a particular interest in the early diagnosis and treatment of skin malignancy, the treatment of acne, psoriasis and eczema, blistering skin disorders, paediatrics, and light-induced skin disorders.
David has represented Australia in swimming and maintains an interest in a broad range of sporting and cultural activities.
Dr. Juliana Junger
Overseas Trained Dermatologist
Juliana was born in Rio de Janeiro and completed her medical and dermatology training in Brazil.
After finishing dermatology training Juliana worked in private practice for two years and was a Visiting Medical Officer to some of the major hospitals in Rio. Juliana also trained at the Instituto Oswaldo Cruz Research Institute for six years where she researched and published papers on leishmaniasis.
Juliana obtained her Masters Degree in Infectious Diseases in Portugal where she also worked in the field of cosmetic medicine . After completing her Masters Degree Juliana worked as a dermatologist in Saudi Arabia.
Juliana commenced working in Australia as a trainee dermatologist in a rural area of need position in 2015. She was successful in passing the Area of Need examination with the Australasian College of Dermatologists and has now joined our team of professionals at Lotus Dermatology.
Dr. Bethany Croker
Dr Bethany Croker gained her Bachelor of Medicine with Distinction in 2012. She is currently a member of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians and the Australian Medical Association.
Dr Croker has worked closely with Hunter New England Health and has a special interest in rural health and Dermatology. She is currently studying her Masters in Public Health at the University of Newcastle.
Dr Croker currently assists the dermatologists with conducting specialised acne and psoriasis clinics at Lotus and clinics for patients suffering from hyperhidrosis.
