Skin Needling

Skin Needling or Micro Needling

Skin needling is also known as micro-needling or collagen induction therapy.  This technique is considered one of the safest skin procedures and is an excellent form of skin rejuvenation.

How does it work?

The procedure creates fine holes which stimulate the body to create new collagen and elastin in the micro-needled areas of the dermis (layer of the skin). This treatment leads to a reduction of scars and skin rejuvenation through improved skin texture, reduced fines lines and improved hydration.

Professional skin needling causes minimal damage to the skin  and can be performed on all skin types even dark skin because of the reduced risk of hyperpigmentation unlike other procedures.

Skin needling is used to effectively:

* Reduce fine lines and deep wrinkles

* Reduce scars (including hypertrophic scars) caused by acne, chickenpox,   surgery or thermal burns

* Fade stretch marks

* Tighten sagging skin such as the neck area and eye area

* Reduce pigmentation such as melasma

* Treat certain types of alopecia (hair loss)

Does it hurt?

The procedure is painless as the area is made numb with a topical anaesthetic cream prior to the treatment. After the procedure the area becomes red which subsides overnight. Regular activities can be resumed within a few days so downtime is minimal. Treatment regimes vary depending on the condition/areas targeted.
